India’s leading two-wheeler manufacturer forayed into the electric vehicle segment with the Bajaj Chetak electric scooter. The popular electric scooter was only available in Pune and Bengaluru. Now Bajaj has announced that the brand has commenced accepting bookings on the Bajaj Chetak in Nagpur.
Bajaj Chetak Electric – Bookings Open in Nagpur
Interested customers can put down a booking amount of INR 2,000 to reserve the Chetak Electric scooter. The Chetak electric scooter will be available for booking through two Bajaj Chetak dealerships – Chetak@KTM Kamptee Road and Chetak@KTM Khamla Road. Customers can also use the contactless booking channel and reserve their Chetak online from the brand’s dedicated website.
Bajaj Chetak Electric – Price, Variants and Colour options
The Bajaj Chetak Electric comes with a starting price tag of INR 1,42,998 ex-showroom, Nagpur. The electric scooter comes in two trims – Premium and Urbane. The Premium variant features four colour options – Indigo Metallic, Velutto Rosso, Brooklyn Black and Hazelnut. On the other hand, the Urbane variant comes with two colour options – Cyber White and Citrus Rush.
Bajaj Chetak Electric – Charging, Maintenance and Warranty
The Bajaj Chetak Electric comes with an onboard Intelligent Battery Management System (IBMS) that controls charge and discharge. Users can easily recharge the battery using a standard household 5-amp electrical outlet. Chetak Electric can charge 100% SOC (State-of-Charge) in just 5 hours and has a quick charge of 25% in 60 minutes. The brand claims that the Chetak EV needs minimal maintenance and has a service interval of 12,000 kilometres or one year. The brand also offers three years or 50,000 kilometres warranty on the battery.
Bajaj Chetak Electric – Powertrain Specifications
Powering the Bajaj Chetak is a pivot-mounted 4kW/14 Nm beltless solid gear drive electric motor with IP67 water and dust resistant rating. The Bajaj Chetak Electric comes with an IP67 rated high-tech Lithium-Ion battery that provides a range of 90 km in an Eco Mode on a single charge, according to the AIS 040.
Previously, Bajaj sold out the Chetak Electric scooter in just 48 hours of commencement of bookings. Bajaj anticipates the same at Nagpur.
