Bajaj Chetak 2901 variant launched at INR 95,998

Bajaj has launched the new Chetak 2901 at the price of INR 95,998 ex-showroom. Compared to the Chetak Urbane the price tag of INR 95,998 is almost INR 27 thousand more affordable and ~INR 51,000 cheaper than the Chetak Premium. The much affordable 2901 Chetak will be available in over 500 showrooms across India and retails to consumers shall begin from 15 June onwards. Thanks to its much more affordable pricing, Bajaj will be able to democratise the electric scooter and position it alongside ICE scooters in India.

Bajaj Chetak 2901 – Battery, Range and Colours

Bajaj announced that the Chetak 2901 is available in Red, White, Black, Lime Yellow and Azure Blue colour options. In addition to this, the Chetak electric scooter also comes with a robust metal body and advanced technological features. The Chetak 2901 comes with a 2.88 kWh battery that claims to offer 123 km of range. Furthermore, the Bajaj Chetak 2901 also boasts a top speed of 63 kmph which is quite enough for urban use.

Bajaj Chetak 2901 – Features and TecPac

The Bajaj Chetak 2901 comes with a solid metal body for durability and alloy wheels. Additionally, the Chetak 2901 also gets a coloured digital instruments cluster and bluetooth connectivity. At an additional cost of INR 3,000, customers can also upgrade the Bajaj Chetak 2901 with a “TecPac”. Thanks to the TecPac customers can get features such as app connectivity, call management, music control and geo-fencing for security. Furthermore, TecPac also brings with it features such as Eco & Sports riding modes, Hill Hold and Reverse Mode.

Bajaj Chetak 2901 – Subsidy and EV Adoption

The brand also revealed that the Bajaj Chetak has received the Electric Mobility Promotion Scheme (EMPS) subsidy from the Ministry of Heavy Industries (MHI). The company is also part of the Government of India’s Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for Electric Vehicles. Thanks to this, the company will be able to compete with the ICE scooters in terms of pricing and accelerate EV mobility adoption in the Indian market.
