Avera opens bookings for its Retrosa E-scooter at INR 11,200

Avera, a sustainable mobility solutions brand based in the Amaravati region of Andhra Pradesh has started accepting bookings for its new product called Retrosa. Retrosa is an electric scooter launched in Andhra Pradesh at a price of INR 1.08 lakh ex-showroom. Though the electric scooter was launched in February this year, bookings have just opened and interested buyers from the state of Andhra Pradesh can now book the Avera Retrosa for an amount of INR 11,200.

The Avera Retrosa is a retro-styled electric scooter with a lot of flowing curves and features a rounded LED headlight with chrome surrounds and front apron mounted LED turn signal indicators. The tail light is also LED with body integrated LED signal lamps. The front apron also gets chrome finished applique and chrome housing on the rear view mirrors. The inner panel on the bike is finished in black and the seat gets a beige cover. The electric scooter gets a digital instrument console with a side stand warning and a battery monitor. It also features a park assist function to help maneuver in tight spaces.

The powerplant on the Avera Retrosa is a 72V 3000W Brushless DC motor connected to a Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePo4) battery which can deliver a range of 140 km on a single charge and a top speed of 90 kmph. The battery takes 3-4 hours to recharge using a standard home charger and 1-2 hours using the Avera Fast Charging system. The electric scooter also offers two riding modes – Economy and Sport+

Other hardware on the electric scooter includes telescopic front fork and twin-sided hydraulic shock absorber at the back. The braking duties are handled by hydraulically operated disc brakes on both the front and rear wheels. The scooter weighs 88 kgs and the seat height is 750mm which is a boon for shorter riders. The wheels on the e-scooter are 12-inch aluminium alloy wheels shod in 110/70 tyres on both the front and rear.

Avera provides a five-year warranty on the battery and a five-year insurance scheme. Avera also claims that the running cost of the e-scooter is just 18 paise per km. The electric two-wheeler is locally produced and is eligible for the FAME II subsidy. The brand is also planning to install 100 battery charging and swapping points stations across the country. The e-scooter rivals the likes of the Okinawa I-Praise and the Ather 450.
