Audi has unveiled the new facelifted version of the Audi Q5 which will be launched in the Indian market in 2021. The new Audi Q5 facelift features new sharper exteriors and new interiors laced with the latest technological equipment. With an estimated price of around INR 55 lakh ex-showroom, the Audi Q5 facelift will rival the likes of the Land Rover Discovery Sport, BMW X3, Mercedes-Benz GLC and the Volvo XC60.
On the outside, the new Audi Q5 features sportier front fascia that features a hexagonal mesh single frame grille finished in gloss black, geometric front apron with bumper-mounted fog lamps and black inserts, a front splitter finished in black, a wide air dam, raised ridges on the bonnet, new design LED daytime running lights, LED headlamps as standard, LED Matrix lights on the top-spec variants, slightly redesigned rear, Organic LED taillights with animations and dynamic turn indicators. The SUV also features a prominent shoulder line that runs across its side, rock guard below to door line, rounded wheel arches, gloss black applique on the rear apron, a diffuser effect on the rear bumper and trapezoidal exhaust outlets.
On the inside, the Audi Q5 facelift features a multilayered dashboard with satinised embellishments on the fascia, silver and piano black trim, beige seat upholstery, control mounted steering wheel, 12.3-inch full-colour digital instrumentation, a faster and larger 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment screen in the centre with Audi MIB3 Modular Infotainment Platform featuring connected car tech and Amazon Alexa support, a wide transmission tunnel with a chunk gear shift lever and piano black trim, rotary aircon controls etc. The SUV also features wireless charging cradle neatly integrated in-between the front seats with a collapsible shutter and top-trim variants of the Audi Q5 facelift also come with a HUD (Heads Up Display).
The Audi Q5 facelift is powered by a 2.0-litre TFSI petrol engine speculated to make around 245 Hp of power and 370 Nm of torque matched to a 7-speed S-Tronic Dual Clutch gearbox and Quattro all-wheel drive as standard. In the European market, the Audi Q5 will come with a 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel engine as well with mild-hybrid MHEV tech that comes with a compact lithium-ion battery and a belt-driven starter/generator (BSG) that produces 204 PS of power and 400 Nm of torque.
The market launch of the facelift Audi Q5 is slated for autumn 2020 in the international market and the SUV is expected to come to the Indian market in 2021.
