Audi India has announced that bookings for the Q8 e-tron & Q8 Sportback e-tron are now open. Interested customers will be able to book these for a token amount of INR 5.0 lakh. Meanwhile, the German carmaker will be announcing the prices on 18 August 2023.
The Q8 e-tron replaced the outgoing Audi e-tron. This is now the flagship electric SUV in the Audi line-up. It is nothing but the all-electric version of the Q8 SUV, which now gets a facelift and along with it few design changes and new feature additions.
Audi Q8 e-tron : More Details
Audi is offering two body styles on the Q8 – SUV and Sportback. While the Sportback gets a steeply raked windscreen and boot spoiler, the SUV gets an integrated spoiler on the tailgate that sits above the rear window. Audi has also claimed a reduction in the drag coefficient from 0.28 to 0.27.
The Q8 e-tron gets the typical e-tron styling, but Audi has not gone overboard with it. It’s more of an evolution than an entirely new design. The front grille gets many sharp cuts and creases. It gets various openings for air intakes and the ends of the bumper get flared recesses. All these changes make the car appear more sporty than before. There is also the new 2D Audi logo.
On the inside, the cars come with a digital cockpit, a 16-speaker Bang and Olufsen audio system, a panoramic sunroof and a 360-degree camera. The seats come with a massage and ventilation function as well. There is also a 10.1-inch infotainment unit and a digital instrument cluster.
Powertrain of the Audi Q8 e-tron
Audi is offering the quad motor option in India. This means, there is one motor for each wheel. The total system output is 402 BHP and 664 Nm. In terms of range, the more aerodynamic Sportback can do 600 km while the SUV will be good for 582 km on a single charge – these are claimed numbers.
