German luxury car brand Audi has announced new ‘Lifetime Value Services’ for their customers. With this initiative, Audi car buyers can get up to 7 years of extended warranty, up to 11 years of Road Side Assistance and up to 8 years of service plans for their cars. Audi wants to improve their after-sales and service strategy with such initiatives, hassle free ownership is key in the luxury car market. Audi will allow customers to decide from multiple time and mileage options with their Topservice CarLife products; all depending on their driving style and requirements.
11 year RSA is an industry first initiative, and should offer peace of mind to the customers. Even those who might be buying a used Audi car. A top-up extended warranty package can be bought even after the current warranty pack expires, but within 15 days of that happening and given that the odometer reading is less than 1 lakh km. For those who do not have extended warranty, they can get 1 year of warranty for their Audi car from the 3rd – 6th year, also with an odometer reading less than 100k kms. All cars will be evaluated by Audi India before issuing extended warranty.
Customers can opt for a service plan up to the 20th month of their car purchase and this will account for all component failures, if at all, barring tyres and batteries.
Audi recently launched the 8th generation A6 sedan and the refreshed A4 sedan in India. Interestingly, both cars were introduced only with a petrol engine option as by April 2020, Audi will transition to BS6 engines only with petrol, hybrids, plug-in hybrids and more. The brand plans to dump diesel motors unless a decision is made if they should come to India, or not.
Audi was leading the luxury car segment once, but now Mercedes-Benz dominates the high-end car market in India by a big margin.
