Ather sold 8,062 electric scooters in August 2023

Written by AnantaSaranNayak

In August 2023, Ather Energy achieved a notable monthly sales volume of 8,062 units, marking a substantial increase from the 6,410 units sold in August of the previous year. This impressive performance translated to a year-on-year growth rate of 25.77 per cent. Furthermore, in July of the current year, the company recorded sales of 7,858 units, resulting in a month-on-month growth of 2.6 per cent.

However, it’s worth noting that Ather couldn’t match the sales volume it achieved in May 2023 when it recorded its highest-ever monthly sales of 15,256 units. The decline in sales can be attributed to the implementation of revised FAME II norms.

Ather Energy And Its Increasing Sales

Ather Energy, the electric scooter manufacturer, recently introduced an updated 450 series, which includes the 450S, 450X with a 2.9 kWh battery, and 450X with a 3.7 kWh battery. Alongside these new launches, Ather launched a new brand campaign, “Quick. Quicker. Ather.” Additionally, the company expanded its presence by establishing seven new experience centres in August, bringing the total number of experience centres across the country to 147.

The Road Ahead For Ather Energy

August was an exciting month for Ather, as they announced the launch of the new 450 Series of scooters. This launch allows them to reach a wider range of customers as they now have 3 products on the 450 platform at different price segments. Since the launch, they have seen a spike in pre-orders for the new scooters.

The production of the 450S and 450X (2.9 kWh) has been ramped up slowly, and it will go at full throttle this month. With the refreshed product portfolio increasing customer accessibility to scooters and the festive season kicking off, Ather is confident of capturing a larger market share in the coming months. The EV scene is picking up pace pretty fast and it is growing to even 2nd-tier cities.
