Written by AnantaSaranNayak

Ather Energy joins hands with Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL). This collaboration aims to enhance and expand the Ather Grid, the country’s largest EV two-wheeler fast-charging network. This strategic collaboration grants Ather Energy access to BPCL’s extensive network of over 21,000 fuel stations across India. Thus facilitating the installation of Ather’s public fast-charging Grid.

Ather Energy Aims To Expand The EV Charging Network

Ather Energy has been committed to building a robust and widespread charging infrastructure. Currently, it boasts India’s largest EV two-wheeler charging network, with over 1,400 chargers spread across 100 cities. By partnering with BPCL, Ather Energy aims to accelerate the expansion of the Ather Grid. So as to ensure that the growing customer base of Ather electric scooters has easy access to charging facilities throughout the nation. The Ather App will assist users in locating these fast chargers. Hence providing real-time information on charger availability for seamless planning of charging sessions.

This collaboration allows Ather Energy to enhance its coverage in metropolitan areas and establish charging infrastructure along intercity routes with high usage. In its initial phase, the company successfully installed four fast chargers at various locations in Delhi NCR. Ather Energy also has ambitious plans to scale up to over 100 fast chargers at BPCL locations across India by the end of the year.

Ather Energy emphasised the importance of robust charging infrastructure in accelerating EV adoption in the country. The partnership with BPCL, India’s leading oil and gas company, brings Ather Grid closer to customers nationwide. This will take EV charging infrastructure accessibility to the next level.

BPCL, a staunch supporter of clean energy initiatives, aims to convert 7,000 of its conventional retail outlets into Energy Stations as part of its comprehensive decarbonization strategy. This aligns with the nation’s vision to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2040. With electric two-wheelers leading the charge in EV adoption, BPCL’s alliance with Ather Energy sets up a way for best-in-class EV charging solutions at its Energy Stations. Thus ensuring convenience and confidence for early EV adopters.

Growing EV Charging Infrastructure In India

This collaboration between Ather Energy and BPCL also represents a significant milestone in advancing EV charging infrastructure in India. The focus on expanding coverage initially in Delhi NCR and subsequently nationwide demonstrates Ather Energy’s commitment to providing convenient and accessible charging solutions for its valued customers. As the EV sector continues to evolve, this partnership promises an exciting future of innovative solutions and sustainable mobility in India.
