One of India’s leading electric mobility company, Ather Energy, has announced the launch of the new Ather Grid 2.0. The next generation of public fast-charging infrastructure builds on the current generation of Ather Grid. The new Ather Grid 2.0 comes with enhanced features to support scale and future faster-charging capability. The brand revealed that installing the new public fast-charging network has already begun in Bangalore and Chennai. Furthermore, the company will be expanding its new charging infrastructure across several cities in India.
According to Ather, the brand will be offering a different, approachable, and scalable charging experience with the new Ather Grid 2.0. Also, the new Ather Grid 2.0 is designed to set new benchmarks for the future of public charging utilities. In addition to this, the Ather Grid 2.0 will have the ability to support future fast-charging capacity. The new Ather Grid 2.0 also ensures enhanced safety and faster bug resolution.
The Ather Grid 2.0 will also support Over-the-Air updates. This enables the brand to push new features and bug fixes to all systems on the field in real-time. The brand also reveals the new Ather Grid 2.0 features updates in terms of durability. The charging interface is designed to handle degradation, making it more suitable for installations exposed to extreme environmental conditions. Also, the new Ather Grid 2.0 features a unique modular design, enabling field serviceability of parts and remote diagnostics. The Ather Grid will also stay connected at all times. This will allow real-time availability of all charging locations in every city.
The Ather Grid network is spread across 21+ cities and 215+ locations. Furthermore, the brand also aims to add 500 Ather Grid locations by the end of FY22. All the new installations will be Ather Grid 2.0’s, thus making Ather Grid one of India’s largest fast-charging infrastructure networks for electric two-wheelers. The brand also revealed that the Ather Grid rapid charging network is available to all electric two-wheelers and electric four-wheelers. Furthermore, the network is free of charge until the end of December 2021.
