Ather e-scooters to get Eco Mode update soon

Ather Energy, one of India’s leading electric mobility solutions company is expected to update the Ather 450 electric scooter with a new Eco Mode. The Eco Mode is designed to extend the range of the e-scooter to 75 km on a single charge, but in return, it will limit the top speed of the scooter to 45 kmph.

The flagship e-Scooter, Ather 450 is available with two riding modes Sport and Ride. In Sport Mode, all the available torque is delivered on tap and the bike can sprint from 0-40 kmph in just 3.9 seconds. The top speed though is limited to 80 kmph and the e-scooter offers a 55 km range in this mode. Another mode is the Ride Mode which delivers a range of 65 km on a single charge with a limited top speed of 65 kmph. The third mode which the company’s website shows and ‘Coming Soon’ is the Eco Mode, expected to be updated on the e-scooter via the Over The Air (OTA) connectivity feature.

Recently the e-scooters were updated Over The Air and were added with features such as Guide Me Home light, reduced minimum brightness, new precautionary notifications, and a revised screen layout.

The Ather 450 is powered by a Brush-Less Direct Current motor, that produces an output of 5.4 kW and an instant torque of 20.5 Nm. It is connected to an IP67 water and dust resistant 2.4 kWh lithium-ion battery. In addition to this, the Ather 450 which is the flagship scooter gets front and rear disc brakes, a full colour interactive 7-inch capacitive touchscreen instrument console rated to IP65, reverse mode, smartphone connectivity among others.

The scooter comes with a 2 year/30,000 km vehicle warranty, a 3 year/unlimited km battery warranty and 3 years warranty on the Home Charging Point against manufacturing defects.

The Ather 450 is priced at INR 1,22,647 On-Road, Bengaluru and the Ather 340 is priced at INR 1,20,647 on-road, Bengaluru. The brand is set to launch its products in Chennai in the coming months and has already set up 7 charging stations in the city with a target to set up 55 stations by the end of the year.
