The flagship company of Hinduja Group and India’s leading commercial vehicle manufacturer, Ashok Leyland, has launched the AVTR 4220 and AVTR 4420 in the 4×2 tractor segment in India. The former will come with a 41.5T GCW, while the latter with a 43.5T GCW. With these offerings, Ashok Leyland also becomes the first OEM in the country to offer tractors with 41.5T and 43.5T GCW in a two-axle configuration.
The Head of MHCV, Ashok Leyland, said that the company’s modular platform enables them to deliver custom-tailored offerings to cater for the needs of every customer. He further added that the two latest products will allow customers to carry denser loads. Thus, delivering superior fuel efficiency as well as a TCO advantage. The latest models are also a testimony to the company’s ‘Aapki Jeet – Humari Jeet’ philosophy. He also said that Ashok Leyland will continue its journey with newer innovations and products in the future.
Both the models use Ashok Leyland’s proven H6 engine. The 6-cylinder engine also gets the brand’s i-Gen6 technology. The available GCW options are – 41.5T and 43.5T. Both the GCW options will come with a suitable 2-axle trailer. The brand also claims it offers lower DEF consumption and higher fluid efficiency. As they are meant to operate in Indian conditions, the brand has optimised the trucks accordingly. The AVTR 4220 and AVTR 4420 are also available in a wide range of cabin options. These include – Cowl, M Cabin, U Cabin and N Cabin (Sleeper Cabins).
Ashok Leyland also launched the ecomet STAR 1815 in the country. The new model comes under the 17.5T GVW category. The brand claims it offers the segment-best payload capacity and better mileage than before. The new ecomet STAR 1815 will also be available with an Advanced Digital Driver Assist (ADDA). The company will also offer 24×7 customer assistance and remote diagnostics for the new ecomet STAR 1815.
