Hinduja Group’s flagship company, Ashok Leyland, which is also India’s leading CV manufacturer, has launched the H6 4V engine in its AVTR range with Premium N Cabin. Ashok Leyland says the AVTR platform’s modularity greatly reduces the product lead time, which enables the company to launch products catering to several unique transportation requirements of its customers. The company also claims that the H6 4V engine in AVTR trucks with the premium N Cabin will deliver greater TCO advantages. The new engine option with N Cabin will come in haulage, tractor and tipper segments.
The new H6 engine is now available with the brand’s popular AVTR modular truck range. The H6 6-cylinder engine also features the i-Gen6 technology. The engine makes 250 HP at 2,400 rpm and 900 Nm of torque at 1,200 to 1,900 Nm. The flat torque of the engine also helps with fuel efficiency. The H6 engine is mated to a 9-speed automated manual transmission via a 395 mm dry-type single plate clutch. Ashok Leyland claims the proven H-Series engine makes the range of trucks suitable for customers seeking higher power delivery and fuel efficiency.
Other highlights of the new truck range include a premium tilt-able suspended cabin and full metal front fascia. The former also features dampers for better ride comfort, while the latter offers better safety. At the front, it also uses double headlamps for a wider and longer visibility range. The cabin also offers excellent storage spaces. In addition to this, Ashok Leyland will also give an option of equipping it with AC and HVAC. Ashok Leyland also claims it offers longer service intervals which help with the up-time of the trucks. Furthermore, a cable gear shift and a larger 21 LPM steering pump make driving easier.
