New rumours are doing the rounds that Aprilia has a new scooter in pipeline for the Indian market. In sync with their brand image for India, the new product will be a sporty maxi scooter and not a boring urban commuter with bare bones equipment and bland design. Reports suggest that Aprilia is in final stages of development of this all-new 160cc Maxi Scooter.
This new model will inevitably slot in above the Aprilia SR 150 which is already on sale. When launched, we know that this scooter will come with best of performance as per segment standards and also get ABS since that is now a mandatory safety feature. Other equipment which is expect is a telescopic front fork, front disc brake, digital + analogue speedo console, XL sized front windscreen, contoured seats, full size exhaust, LED tail lamps, and more as per 2019-20 standards.
This new maxi scooter can be launched in 2020.
The engine will be BS6 compliant for more performance for the maxi scooter segment. Also, this engine will mostly feature fuel-injection for better acceleration and also since this will enable lesser emissions. Expect the same 155cc block from the Aprilia SR 150, but in different state of tune.
