Aprilia SXR 160 production to begin soon, new blue colour revealed

Piaggio India has announced that the Italian premium scooter brand will soon commence the production of the Aprilia SXR 160 maxi-scooter in the Indian market. The Aprilia SXR 160 will be produced at the company’s state of the art production facility in Baramati, Maharashtra. The brand has not yet revealed the launch dates of the Aprilia SXR 160 but it is expected to arrive in Piaggio dealerships by the end of this year. 

The Aprilia SXR 160 is designed in Italy, specifically for India and incorporates Aprilia’s latest global design language. The Aprilia SXR 160 boasts to create new benchmarks in the segment by offering first of its kind combination of performance, styling, ergonomics and riding experience. The Aprilia SXR 160 maxi-scooter features 3 coat HD body paint finish, Aprilia signature graphics, matte black trims, dark chrome accents, sharp body lines and geometric contours. 

The maxi-scooter features an aerodynamic fairing with an integrated flyscreen, twin crystal headlights and eye line position lights with LED technology, integrated front turn indicators, diamond reflection wrap around LED taillights with integrated rear blinkers giving the scooter a futuristic look, ergonomically designed bigger, longer and comfortable seats with art leather suede feel with a special stitch pattern in grey and red threads. The SXR 160 also features an ergonomically designed and raised steering handlebar with state of the art feather touch switches. The Aprilia SXR 160 also features a large 210 cm sq. multifunctional all-digital instruments cluster, with mobile connectivity features, security alarm, immobilizer etc. 

The Aprilia SXR 160 is powered by a BS6 emission compliant 160cc 3-valve tech fuel-injected engine with clean emission engine technology, that is expected to produce around 12 PS of power matched to a CVT automatic transmission. The SXR 160 features dual telescope front suspension and adjustable rear suspension, ventilated disc brakes with twin pot hydraulic callipers equipped with ABS technology for safety. 

The Aprilia SXR 160 will be offered in two colour options – Red and Blue with Aprilia body graphics.
