Piaggio is planning to launch the Aprilia RS 660 and the Tuono 660 into the Indian market. In the international market, the Aprilia RS 660 comes with a price tag of GBP 10,149 in the UK and the motorcycles are likely to come via the CBU (Completely Built-up Unit) route. Both the Aprilia RS 660 and the Tuono 660 are likely to make their debut in mid-2021 in the Indian market.
Now according to a media report, the prices on both the Aprilia RS 660 and the Tuono 660 have leaked before its market launch in India and the Aprilia RS 660 is said to come with a sticker price of 13.39 lakh ex-showroom. The Tuono 660 is likely to come with a price tag of INR 13.09 lakh ex-showroom. The reports also suggest that both the RS 660 and the Tuono 660 come in three colours each. The Aprilia RS 660 will be available in Acid Gold, Lava Red and Apex Black colour options while the Tuono 660 will be available in Concept Black Iridium Grey and Acid Gold colour options.
Powering the Aprilia RS 660 and the Tuono 660 is a Euro5 emission-compliant 659cc forward-facing liquid-cooled fuel-injected engine with an oil cooler and a parallel twin-cylinder architecture that belts out 100 Hp of power and 67 Nm of torque on the RS 660 and a slightly lower state of tune on the Tuono 660. The engine comes matched to a 6-speed transmission with a mechanical slipper clutch and a bi-directional quickshifter.
Both the Aprilia RS 660 and the Tuono 660 share most of the mechanical features such as the aluminium dual beam chassis that rides on 41mm adjustable Kayaba upside-down front fork suspension, adjustable monoshock suspension on the rear. The Aprilia RS 660 also comes with advanced features such as 5 Riding modes (Road and Track, 3 fixed and 2 customisable), Ride-by-Wire throttle, a six-axis inertia measuring unit, ATC (traction control), AWC (wheelie control), AEB (engine braking), AEM (engine maps) and ACC (cruise control) and the braking components come equipped with Multimap Cornering ABS.
