Aprilia RS 457 REVIEW

Italian premium motorcycle manufacturer launched the new Aprilia RS 457 in India. The Italian sports bike comes with a price tag of INR 4.10 lakh ex-showroom. The Aprilia RS 457 can now be booked from Aprilia Motoplex across India by putting down an amount of INR 10,000/-. Deliveries for the 2024 Aprilia RS 457 is set to commence from March 2024. Below is a comprehensive Track Ride Review of the Aprilia RS 457.

Aprilia RS 457 – Technical Specifications

Powering the Aprilia RS 457 is a 457cc twin-cylinder engine with liquid-cooling and double overhead camshaft timing. The 4-valve/cylinder engine produces 47 PS of power and 43.5 Nm of torque. The engine comes with a 6-speed transmission and a ride-by-wire throttle system along with an adjustable traction control system.

The Aprilia RS 457 also gets 41mm upside down front forks with preload adjustment and 120mm of travel. The bike also comes with a preload adjustable rear mono shock with 130mm of travel. In addition to this, braking power comes from 320mm floating disc on the front and a 220mm disc on the rear with ByBre callipers.

The Aprilia RS 457 also comes with 13-litres of fuel tank capacity and a dry weight of just 159 kgs claiming theĀ best power-to-weight ratio in its class. In addition to this, the 800mm seat height is also quite acceptable for riders with short inseams.

Aprilia RS 457 – Key Features

Aprilia is offering the RS 457 with a slew of electronic features. This includes a Three Riding Modes, Engine maps (AEM) and RS MIA connectivity. Furthermore, the motorcycle also gets LED lighting, a 5-inch TFT instrument panel and Backlit handlebar control. For safety the motorcycle not only gets Aprilia Traction control (ATC), but also Metal braided brake hoses and ABS with anti roll-over system.

Aprilia RS 457 – Manufacturing and Competition

Aprilia is manufacturing the Aprilia RS 457 at the brand’s Baramati production facility in Maharashtra. Thanks to this, the Aprilia RS 457 seriously undercuts the Yamaha R3 and the Kawasaki Ninja 400 which are brought in from abroad. The bike also directly rivals the likes of the KTM RC 390 and the Kawasaki Ninja 300 which are manufactured locally.
