Aprilia lists race-spec RS660 Trofeo on sale

Aprilia has unveiled the new race-spec RS660 Trofeo in the international market. The brand has announced that the new Aprilia Trofeo will be available for any enthusiast that wishes to purchase the track-only motorcycle. The Aprilia Racing department will produce the Aprilia RS 600 under the Factory Works programme. 

The street-legal Aprilia RS660 is already a lightweight motorcycle. The RS660 Trofeo comes with extremely high-level components and ideally balanced chassis architecture, engine and electronics. The Trofeo model also offers an outstanding weight/power ratio and an advanced electronics package. 

Aprilia RS660 Trofeo – Technical Modifications

Powering the RS660 Trofeo is the same inline twin-cylinder engine, but the power has been upped to 105 Hp. The RS 660 Trofeo has also lost weight and now tips the scales at just 153 kg. The track-spec model comes without a secondary air system. Boffins at Aprilia have also eliminated the thermostat for race use. The brand has also installed aluminium guards to the clutch cover and alternator. The motorcycle also comes with a race-specific Sprint Filter air filter. 

Aprilia RS660 Trofeo – Suspension Modifications

The front fork of the Aprilia RS660 Trofeo features a “Misano by Andreani” internal cartridge. The suspension system features adjustable hydraulic compression and rebound damping and preload. On the rear, the brand has installed an Ohlins AP948 monoshock that comes with hydraulic preload, compression and rebound damping adjustment. The motorcycle also comes with 17-inch wheels shod in Pirelli Supercorsa V3 SC1. 

Aprilia RS660 Trofeo – Electronics Package

The brand has also eliminated the ignition switch assembly, however, the ABS control unit remains on the bike and connected. The ECU is also reprogrammed in the Race version. The brand employs a new mapping developed by Aprilia Racing dedicated for race track use. The motorcycle also comes with a colour TFT dashboard and a dedicated button block on the left-hand side. The brand is also employing an SC-Project racing exhaust.
