Written by Akhil Dalvi

To further strengthen its product portfolio in India, leading tyres manufacturer Apollo Tyres Ltd has launched the European brand Vredestein. With its manufacturing planned at advanced facilities in India, Vredestein tyres will cater to premium and luxury cars. On the other hand, Vredestein’s two-wheeler specific tyres will cater to the growing superbike segment in India. Renowned for its designer and high-quality tyres, Vredestein has introduced 15′-inch to 2-inch tyres sizes for the passenger car segment in India.

Ultrac Vorti Premium Tyres

The brand’s ‘Ultrac Vorti’ tyres will cater towards premium luxury sedans from Mercedes, BMW, Audi, Land Rover, and Volvo. The Vredestein Ultrac tyres will cater towards premium hatchbacks and sedans like the Honda City, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, and Baleno. The brand will introduce its Centauro NS and ST tyres for India’s sport-touring and super-sports range of motorcycles. The brands that offer these bikes in India include BMW, Ducati, Aprilia, Triumph, Kawasaki, Suzuki, Honda, and Yamaha.

Vredestein Design from Giorgetto Giugiaro

Vredestein’s passenger vehicle range of tyres carries a signature design touch from automotive designer Giorgetto Giugiaro. The two-wheeler range of tyres, on the other hand, has been designed by the famous Italian design house, Frascoli Design. The tyres range being introduced for India has been tested across major race circuits in Europe and India. Vredestein’s tyres range has also achieved podium positions in various automotive tests conducted across Europe and the US.

OEM Tyre Range

Apollo tyres will utilize its existing network of business partners and tier 1 counters to sell the Vredestein tyres range. In the near future, Apollo may also consider setting up special counters for the Vredestein brand. Being a new entrant in India, Vredestein has the advantage of accessing Apollo tyres’ renowned sales and service network. Vredestein has typically operated in the replacement market across Europe and US markets along with currently supplying European OEMs. The OEMs from Europe include Audi, Volkswagen, SEAT, and Ford.

Similar to Europe, Apollo Tyres will initially sell the Vredestein brand of tyres for the replacement market. Apollo will also leverage its association with global OEMs in order to have the Vredestein tyres range as OE fitments. Established in the Netherlands in 1909, Vredestein has acquired immense worldwide recognition over the decades as a premium tyres brand. Its reputation comes courtesy of its focus on innovation, investments in high-performance technology, and also the stunning tyres designs. Apollo Tyres Ltd acquired the Vredestein brand in 2009.
