Performance supercar brand Ferrari is planning to soon introduce it first all-electric car in the global markets. The Ferrari EV test mule with the camouflage wraps was seen with Electric warning stickers on the front and rear. The upcoming electric vehicle’s prototype has been spotted doing rounds close to the Maranello factory in Italy, leading us to believe that the unveil is around the corner. According to reports, the Ferrari EV is likely to make its debut sometime in the next year.
A new spy video has also been posted online which reveals that the Ferrari EV will make a very unique sound. According to the video, the EV sounds mildly like a V8 engine. The soundtrack may be artificial, but will bring the closer to the Ferrari brand’s most known trait of having sonorous engines. The powertrain sound is also likely to vary and be even customizable to some extent. In the later stages of testing we may also see different sound tracks for the engine. However, Ferrari in the past had revealed that the EV won’t be silent but have an authentic noise. However, the brand could incorporate a sound track for AVAS (Acoustic Vehicle Alerting System).
Technical details of the new Ferrari EV are still scarce, however, we speculate that the electric car will have a motor equivalent to the brand’s V8 engines. Also, the torque output is likely to be greater than Ferrari’s gasoline engine vehicles. In addition to this, the Ferrari EV is also likely to feature a four-door design and a relatively tall stance which leads us to believe that the car is likely to have more practicality in addition to its sporty character.
Expect the Ferrari electric vehicle to cost around USD 500,000.
