Ampere Reo 80

The new Reo 80 is based on the Reo model, which is designed for budget-friendly buyers. The Reo 80 is equipped with modern features and a sharp design that is appreciated by young customers more.

The target customers of Reo 80 are the fist-time EV buyers like the students, elderly riders, families, etc. Hence, it costs Rs 59,900 (ex-showroom, India), so that first-time buyers can easily afford it.

Speaking of the scooter, it is powered by an LFP battery pack, which is IP67-rated and provides a maximum range (claimed) of up to 80 km on a single charge.

Ampere Reo 80

With its small and efficient battery pack, the Reo 80 can reach a top speed of 25 km/h, which means that customers need no to register it as it can be used without a driving license.

It is available in four colour options: Black, Red, Blue, and White. In terms of features, it is equipped with alloy wheels, keyless ignition, a premium keyfob, an LCD digital console, and a front disc brake.

The bookings are open nationwide, and the official deliveries will begin in the coming days. The Reo 80 will compete with well-established rivals like Hero Electric and Okinawa.

Our verdict

Greaves Cotton has been trying hard to achieve recognisable sales numbers in the EV scooter segment, but the sales volume has been moderate till now. The Reo 80 is a product with which the company is hopeful to revamp its profits.
