Alto K10 AMT to be the cheapest automatic in India

The Tata Nano F-Tronic AMT is still some time away from making its market debut here in India. Meanwhile, the 2014 Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 is going to get an AMT (Auto Gear Shift) transmission which will make it the cheapest automatic available in the country till the Nano AMT is launched.

Pricing for the Alto K10 AMT is expected to be around Rs. 4 lakh (ex-showroom).

With the popularity of the Celerio AMT, Maruti is sure that there is a definite market for automatic transmissions in India now and will add the convenience feature to its bread and butter model.

Powering the new Alto K10 will be the same 998cc, K10B, 4-cylinder petrol motor which produces 67 BHP @ 6,200 RPM and 90 Nm @ 3,500 RPM.

Features:

  • Body shell of the Alto 800
  • New headlamps
  • New tail lamps
  • New front grille with chrome
  • Revised front and rear bumper
