The next-generation Triumph Rocket III GT has been spotted before its official unveiling in the UK. The bike was spotted in the open without any camouflage and was mostly spied during an official photo shoot. The spied images give us a clear idea of how the bike will look as well the equipment it will come with. The Rocket III GT is based on the Triumph Rocket Rocket III TFC (Triumph Factory Custom) which was recently unveiled and will come in a limited number of units.
The Rocket III GT variant has a short windscreen, a backrest for the pillion, pillion grab rail, pillion foot pegs and the bike comes in metallic silver/grey paint with black and red graphics. It has a massive rear wheel exposed by the single-sided swingarm and has a multi-spoke design alloy wheel with a black and polished aluminium finish. The engine looks massive, obviously, and has three-into-one exhaust with a dual-tipped finisher. The side panel, below the rider’s seat, has a ‘Rocket III GT’ badging and the large radiator has silver coloured shrouds.
At the heart of the bike is expected the Triumph Rocket III TFC engine which has a maximum displacement of 2,458cc, longitudinally placed in-line, 3-cylinder engine which produces more than 170 PS of power and more than 221 Nm of torque and comes with an Arrow performance exhaust with carbon fibre end cans. The engine is paired to an advanced electronic package to tame the ‘World’s Largest Production Engine’ which is also the ‘World’s Highest Torque Producing Engine’. It features four riding modes with a quick shifter and auto-blipper, cornering ABS system and lean-angle-sensitive traction control. The motorcycle also features latest technologies such as hill-hold control, cruise control, tyre pressure monitoring system and keyless ignition. The instrument console has a full-colour TFT display with an optional Bluetooth dongle which can be used to pair a smartphone to take calls, use Google maps and can also be used with an action camera like GoPro.
The chassis is also new and the suspension is expected to have a 47mm Showa cartridge-type upside-down forks on the front and a fully adjustable piggyback gas shock absorber in the rear. The brakes are Brembo units with adjustable master cylinders.
The Rocket III TFC will be limited to 750 units and will cost GBP 25,000 (*INR 22,73,676) on the road in the UK. The standard model Rocket III is expected to be unveiled at the Milan EICMA show in November 2019 followed by its launch in 2020.
