Triumph Rocket 3 GT launched in India at INR 18.40 lakh

Triumph India has launched the Ultimate Tourer, the all-new Rocket 3 GT in the Indian market at the price of INR 18.40 lakh ex-showroom, India. The Triumph Rocket 3 GT is the touring capable version of the Triumph Rocket 3R that was launched in December 2019 and features comfortable and laid-back ergonomics along with the might of the World’s Largest Production Motorcycle Engine with Euro5/BS6 emission compliance. 

The new Triumph Rocket 3 GT is powered by a 2,458cc Inline 3-cylinder, liquid-cooled DOHC mill with ride-by-wire fuel injection technology that produces 167 PS of power and the highest torque on any production motorcycle – 221 Nm. The triple motor is matched to a 6-speed transmission with Hydraulic, torque-assist clutch and a bevel box shaft, final drive.

With 167 PS of power @ 6,000 RPM, the Rocket 3 GT produces 11% more power than the predecessor from a low 3,500 RPM to a high 7,000 RPM redline. At 221 Nm the Rocket 3 GT also makes 71% more torque than its closest competition and comes with a rich torque curve, reaching a peak at 4,000 RPM, holding maximum torque through the mid rev range.

The Triple engine also features several mass optimized performance enhancements such as a new crankcase assembly, new lubrication system comprising dry sump and integral oil tank and new balancer shafts, translating to a weight saving of 18 kilograms as compared to the predecessor. Overall the Rocket 3 GT is also 40 kg lighter than the predecessor. 

The Rocket 3 GT highlights features such as rounded twin LED headlights Triumph maker’s mark triangle branding, muscular fuel tank, brushed stainless steel tank strap and aluminium Monza-style cap, brushed aluminium air-box cover, brushed aluminium, Monza-style coolant and oil caps, machined fins on the crankcases, head and cam cover, high-value finishing on the bevel box, internally wired handlebars, sculpted rider and pillion saddle with cast aluminium finishers, brushed aluminium pillion backrest, hallmark sculpted 3-header exhaust with brushed exhaust heat shields and end caps, flush-mounted folding pillion footrests. 

The Rocket 3 GT also features an impressive electronics package featuring Triumph’s latest generation full-colour TFT instruments cluster. The TFT unit comes optimised for visibility with angle-adjustment, two information layout themes and personalisation options. The Rocket 3 GT also comes with Optimised Cornering ABS fitted as standard, Optimised Cornering Traction Control as standard, Road, Rain, Sport and Rider-configurable riding modes, Cruise Control, Hill Hold Control, Keyless ignition and steering lock, Heated grips, USB charging, Triumph Shift Assist (bi-directional quick shifter, integrated GoPro control system, Turn-by-turn navigation system, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) mobile phone connectivity and My Triumph app integration.

The Triumph Rocket 3 GT is available in two colour options – Silver Ice & Storm Grey with a Korosi Red pinstripe decal and Phantom Black. The brand has also announced that bookings for the new Triumph Rocket 3 GT are now open through Triumph India dealerships and the brand’s online sales channels.
