The American carmaker, Jeep, has finally brought in its first electric vehicle (BEV), the Avenger. This EV has been designed and built on the ground in Europe. We first saw the Avenger at the 2022 Paris Motor Show. Customers can have the Jeep Avenger in one battery pack across four trims. These are namely, First Edition, Longitude, Altitude, and Summit.
The Avenger follows Jeep’s familiar design language. On the front, the SUV gets an upright bonnet with cuts and creases. This makes it look more muscular. Then, we have a blanked-off seven-slot grille with an ‘e’ embossed on it, this pretty much tells that it is an electric vehicle. Other exterior highlights include LED headlamps with integrated LED DRLs, large air dams, lower bumper-mounted fog lamps, front parking sensors, and radar for the ADAS tech.
On the sides, we see the SUV wearing flared wheel arches. The 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels along with black claddings look quite striking. and a quarter-glass mounted rear door handle. At the rear, the Avenger comes equipped with X-shaped LED tail lights, a panoramic sunroof, a roof-mounted spoiler with a high-mount stop lamp, a rear wiper, a shark fin antenna, and a chunky rear bumper.
Talking of The Jeep Avenger’s features, it is quite loaded. Notable mentions include a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 10.25-inch all-digital instrument cluster, power-adjustable front seats with a massage function, a powered tailgate, multi-coloured ambient lighting, level 2 ADAS, a 360-degree camera, and much more.
The Jeep Avenger uses the brand’s new e-CMP2 modular electric platform. The front-wheel-drive SUV gets its power from a 54kWh battery pack matched with a single motor setup. This motor produces 154 BHP and 260 Nm of peak torque. As for the driving range, Jeep claims a 400km WLTP cycle. In addition to this, the SUV can juice using a fast charger of 100kW rating from 20 to 80 per cent in just under 30 minutes.
