All-New Hyundai Tucson coming soon in India

Hyundai India announces that it will soon bring the all-new Tucson to the Indian market. The Hyundai Tucson is the company’s global best-selling SUV brand. To announce the SUV’s arrival, Hyundai released a video and two images. Hyundai says the 4th generation Tucson will arrive in India by the second half of 2022.

Hyundai has had tremendous success with its SUVs in India. Hyundai’s Creta was a key model for the company. And with the introduction of Tucson, which is well-received worldwide, Hyundai aims to continue the success story in the premium SUV segment as well. Hyundai has sold over 7 million units of the Tucson globally since its launch in 2004. Additionally, the SUV has had over 50 global accolades since 2010. Tucson is one of the most innovative and dynamic SUVs in Hyundai’s lineup.

All-New Hyundai Tucson – Exterior Highlights

The all-new Tucson features Hyundai’s new ‘Parametric Dynamics’ exterior design theme. The theme comes with new sharper geometrical surfaces and a new cutting edge headlight design. The headlight architecture is called ‘Parametric Hidden Lights’. At the front, the SUV features a jewel-like grille. The grille neatly integrates the headlight unit with the Parametric Hidden Lights technology. These allow the lights to be visible only when they are turned on.

On the sides, the SUV continues the sharp and wedge-like design language. The wheel arches get a trapezoidal design with angular surfaces. The rear of the SUV also is geometric in nature. The taillights feature a wraparound design and also get split wedges. Other highlights include a rear windscreen-integrated Hyundai logo and an integrated roof spoiler.

All-New Hyundai Tucson – Interior Highlights

The interior of the all-new Tucson features a wraparound design with a decluttered, layered layout. Hyundai refers to this as the ‘INTERFACE’ design. The dashboard gets an integrated surface with a waterfall-effect vertical centre fascia. A large 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system integrates most of the controls. This also minimises the need for physical knobs and buttons. Additionally, a lower instrument display sits in the same plane as the top of the dashboard fascia.

Other highlights include ambient lighting with 64-configurable colours and wireless smartphone charging. The infotainment system also supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay functionality. In addition to this, the all-new Tucson also gets upgrades to the Bluelink technology.

All-New Hyundai Tucson – Powertrains

Depending on the market, the all-new Tucson is internationally available with three electrified and two ICE options. Additionally, a total of four transmission options are available. The engine options include a 1.6-litre T-GDI Smartstream petrol and a 1.6-litre CRDi Smartstream diesel. The engines come standard with two-wheel drive, but four-wheel drive is optional. All the engines also get 48V mild-hybrid technology. A plug-in hybrid version is also available with a 1.6-litre T-GDI engine and 265 PS. Since there are a lot of new EV and hybrid cars launching in India, we can’t rule out the possibility of Hyundai offering this engine.
