The all-new Citroen C5 Aircross SUV has been spotted testing overseas, hinting at a launch in 2025. This mid-size SUV is set to bring a fresh look and advanced features to the market.
The prototype of the next-generation C5 Aircross was recently seen undergoing tests. While heavily camouflaged, the design elements suggest a longer wheelbase and larger rear doors, maximizing interior space. The SUV is expected to feature new headlights, tail lights, and flush door handles.
The new car will be built on the STLA-M platform, allowing for both pure-electric and hybrid powertrain options. The electric version will have a range of around 644 km on a single charge. The hybrid model will feature a 1.2-litre three-cylinder engine paired with a mild or full plug-in hybrid system. This will be a departure from the 2.0 L diesel that was sold here.
Inside, the C5 Aircross is expected to offer a panoramic display, ergonomic seats, and a highly flexible second row that can slide and fold flat. The SUV will remain a 5-seater model, providing ample cabin space for passengers and luggage.
The Citroen C5 Aircross will face stiff competition in the Indian market from established SUVs like the Toyota Fortuner, Skoda Kodiaq, MG Gloster, Volkswagen Tiguan, and Hyundai Tucson. Each of these models brings unique strengths to the table:
The Citroen C5 Aircross is known for its comfort and amazing ride quality. It is second to none when it comes to handling bad roads. If priced right, the new powertrains could do well in India.
