Acer has launched its first e-scooter in India. Acer is a Taiwan-based electronics and hardware brand. The MUVI 125 4G is priced from INR 99,999 ex-showroom.
MUVI 125 4G is an electric scooter which has been designed and manufactured by Think Ebikego. Think Ebikego is a Mumbai-based startup.
The scooter comes with larger-sized alloy wheels and has a compact overall shape. The front end gets a fairing with a round LED headlamp. The scooter rides on regular telescopic front forks and an off-set monoshock at the back. Braking duties are handled by disc brakes on both ends.
The MUVI 125 4G will feature a 3kWh lithium-ion battery pack. The motor consists of a 3kW BLDC motor. The battery can be fully charged in 3-4 hours and the maximum range is around 80 km. The top speed will be 75 km/h.
That said, Acer has not yet revealed any further details of the scooter. But, the company has revealed that it will fall under the state and central subsidy schemes by the government. The MUVI 125 4G will also get swappable batteries.
Acer has also revealed that they are open to work with the B2B segment with customised variants as per client requirements. For instance, the e-scooter can be used locally for various delivery applications including food and grocery.
To make purchasing this e-scooter easier on customers, the company plans to roll out EMI options as well.
In other news, BMW has commenced production of the CE 02 electric scooter at the TVS plant in Hosur. The move was announced at an event celebrating 10 years of the two brands partnership.
The Indo-German pair have worked on developing the TVS Apache RR310 / BMW G 310R. It is possible that the bike makers could be exploring a collaborative effort for this electric scooter as well. A while back, the CE 02 was spotted testing in India. As of now, the company has not yet announced the scooter’s launch in India.
