The upcoming, next-generation Audi Q7 has been spotted testing yet again. This time however, with minimum camouflage revealing most of its exterior details. This is the second generation Q7 SUV and drops the roundish exterior profile for a more flatter design. The new model is also expected to use lighter materials and reduce the overall weight by about 363 kg.
Changes on the second-generation Q7 include:
- Matrix LED headlamps
- Small front fog lamps
- Sharper, flatter design
- Big, hexagonal front grille
- Silver alloy wheels
- Not so prominent roof rails
- LED tail lamps
- LED rear fog lamps
- Smaller rear quarter glass
- Dual exhaust pipe, one at either end
- Sharkfin antenna
- Chrome weather strip
- Roof mounted spoiler
- Minimum side body cladding
- Beige and black upholstery
- 4-spoke steering wheel
- Digital instrument cluster
- New touchscreen infotainment system
- 7-seater, but seems like the space available would be on the minimum side
Audi will unveil the second-generation Q7 at the Detroit Motor Show 2015 in January next year. High-performance SQ7 version could be revealed on a later stage.
Based on the Q7, Audi could also bring out a Q8, coupe-styled SUV to rival the BMW X6 and Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe.
