Mahindra has today officially announced that bookings are open for the upcoming XUV300 SUV. This is their latest sub-4 metre compact SUV, which will rival the likes of Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza & Ford EcoSport. The XUV300 is based on the SsanYong Tivoli, but heavily reworked for the Indian market.
The new details which were revealed also throw some light on the engine options. The XUV300 will be sold in petrol and diesel engine options with torque output which is best-in-class rated at 200 Nm for the petrol motor and 300 Nm for the diesel motor. This will surely make the car much more fun to drive. Engines will be matched to a 6-speed gearbox.
The XUV300 will also come with top safety features such as 7 airbags, dual-zone climate control, front parking sensors which no other competing car offers as of date. This will surely give an edge to the Mahindra XUV300.
There will be 3 variants on offer at the time of launch, which includes W4, W6 & W8. An additional W8 (O) optional pack will also be available. Other features includes all four disc brakes, ABS, LED tail lamps, power windows, airbags as standard on all variants of the XUV300.
Previously known as the S201, the XUV branding is expected to help generate a positive vibe in the market. Do you like the XUV300?
