New KTM 390 Adventure to launch in India in 2024, multiple variants incoming

Written by Nizam Shaikh

KTM is working on the next-generation 390 Adventure for the Indian and international markets. Currently, the company is testing the motorcycle in India as well as abroad and so far we have seen two versions of the upcoming motorcycle – An Adventure as well as an Enduro. However, sources reveal that KTM will introduce upto four variants of the adventure motorcycle.

Multiple Adventure Variants

This is likely to include, an entry level ‘X’ variant as well as a Touring edition of the 390 Adventure. But, reports further suggest that KTM may not launch all the variants in the Indian market, at least all at once. Offering a wide variety of trims is likely to help the brand widen its audience and also help compete with the likes of the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 which comes with a starting price of INR 2.85 lakh ex-showroom.

Adventure X

Speculation is that the KTM Adventure X could come with a basic suspension, which could be a long travel one but a non adjustable type. In addition to this, the X is likely to get a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheel setup. Also, the X variant is likely to come with less electronic features and may not get an IMU which enables cornering ABS and Traction Control. The model may not get a quick shifter as well features such as riding modes.

Adventure Touring

A higher spec Touring version of the motorcycle is likely to come with off-road friendly features such as a 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheels as well as adjustable front and rear suspension. In addition to this, the Touring version may also come with a full fledged electronics suite which is likely to include multiple riding modes, cornering traction control, cornering ABS, and we won’t be surprised if KTM offers a cruise control system with the Touring model.

Expected Launch

The new KTM 390 Adventure is likely to use the same LC4C single cylinder engine that made its debut with the new-generation 390 Duke. Expect the new KTM 390 Adventure to make its debut at the EICMA show in November 2024.
