Written by Nizam Shaikh

Hyundai recently announced that the brand has started accepting bookings for the new Hyundai Alcazar in the Indian market. The new Alcazar is based on the facelift Creta, however, comes with a number of differentiating factors distinguishing itself from the 5-seater Creta. The 6/7-seater Alcazar is not just different on the inside but also on the outside. So, in this specifications comparison let’s find out what’s different between the Creta and the Alcazar.

Front-End Design

The new Hyundai Alcazar may appear to get a similar light signature, however, the DRL design is completely different from the Creta. While the Creta comes with L-shaped DRL light signatures, the Alcazar gets an H-shaped signature. But, both SUVs comes with a connected lighter on the front. In addition to this, the Alcazar also comes with a completely new fascia including a new grille and Hyundai logo. While the Creta comes with a Hyundai logo mounted on the centre of the grille, the Alcazar gets a honeycomb shaped grille design with the Hyundai logo mounted high up near the bonnet shutline. Furthermore, the Alcazar also comes with completely new bumper design that has an imposing, jutting out design, while the Creta features a quadrilateral skid plate design. But, the headlamp setup on both the SUVs is quite similar.

Sides and Rear Design

On its side, the Alcazar features a similar glass house, but the tail end section is elongated compared to the Creta to accommodate the 3rd row seating. Also, while the Creta comes with a silver finish garnish towards the C-pillar, the Alcazar gets extra glass to make things less claustrophobic for the 3rd row passengers. The Alcazar also comes with a prominent roof rail which could be a load bearing unit. The brand is also offering a new design on the alloy wheels for the Alcazar that further differentiates the two when viewed from the side. The rear section is also completely new for the Alcazar and comes with a H-shaped light signature the reverberates with the front of the SUV. The Alcazar also comes with a new bumper design that comes with a studded finish as compared to the skid plate finish of the Creta.

The Hyundai Alcazar not only comes with 6/7-seat options but also comes with premium interiors as compared to the Creta. The 2nd row features captain seats and the front passenger seat can also be adjusted using a switch on the side.
