BharatBenz launches Heavy-Duty Rigid Trucks with new engine & payload

Written by News Team

Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV), a subsidiary of Daimler Truck AG, has unveiled its latest range of BharatBenz heavy-duty rigid trucks in the Indian market. The new trucks, powered by an all-new BharatBenz 6.7-litre BSVI Stage 2 diesel engine, are engineered to meet the diverse needs of India’s transportation sector.

Engineered for Performance

At the heart of these new trucks is the cutting-edge 6.7-litre diesel engine, available in two configurations. Customers can choose between a 250 HP engine with 950 Nm of torque and a 306 HP variant offering 1200 Nm of torque. These engines are designed to handle substantial payloads efficiently, providing smoother shifts, high torque delivery at lower speeds, and enhanced acceleration. This flexibility makes the new BharatBenz Rigids an ideal choice for various applications, from bitumen transportation to Petroleum Oil & Lubricants (POL).

Advanced Fuel Efficiency and Drive Features

The latest BharatBenz models come equipped with DICV’s EFFI+ package and multi-drive mode functionality, which collectively contribute to remarkable fuel efficiency. The EFFI+ package introduces innovations such as:

  • Minimal Parked Regeneration: Reduces unnecessary fuel consumption during downtime.
  • Auto Green Band: Automatically maintains optimal engine RPM for better efficiency.
  • Auto Idling Shutdown: Conserves fuel by cutting off the engine during prolonged idling.
  • Harsh Acceleration Control: Limits excessive acceleration to prevent fuel wastage.

Moreover, the multi-drive mode feature allows drivers to select operating modes tailored to different load conditions, optimizing performance and further enhancing fuel efficiency during partial or no-load operations.

Robust Chassis and Versatile Applications

The new BharatBenz Rigids boast an advanced joggle frame chassis with riveted joints, designed to support a wide range of applications. Whether transporting bitumen, bulk materials, or POL, the chassis is engineered for durability and versatility. The trucks also feature Parabolic-type, grease-free suspension, which enhances ride quality and reduces maintenance needs, making them a reliable choice for long-term use.

Enhanced Safety Features

Safety remains a top priority for BharatBenz, and the new Rigid range is fully compliant with stringent EU ECE R29-02 cabin safety norms. The trucks are equipped with aerodynamically designed AC cabins, comfortable sleeper berths for long-distance travel, and advanced Driver State Monitoring systems that use AI and computer vision to prevent driver distraction and fatigue. The inclusion of a more powerful engine brake system, which boosts braking efficiency by 28%, along with reverse cameras, further enhances safety during operations.
