Tata Motors is preparing to launch three new electric vehicles (EVs) in the coming months. The company has been spotted testing the electric versions of its popular SUVs Harrier and Safari, as well as its upcoming coupe-styled compact SUV Curvv
Tata Upcoming EVs
The Harrier EV and Safari EV are expected to be based on Tata’s new Acti.EV platform, which debuted with the Punch EV earlier this month. The Acti.EV platform is designed to offer high performance, long range and fast charging capabilities for Tata’s EVs. The Harrier EV and Safari EV will also feature a futuristic design, with sleek LED headlights, a revised grille, and a new rear bumper. The Harrier EV is likely to offer an all-wheel-drive option, while the Safari EV will retain its seven-seater configuration.
The Curvv EV, on the other hand, will be a new addition to Tata’s portfolio, and will compete with the likes of Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos in the compact SUV segment. The Curvv EV will have a distinctive coupe-like silhouette, with a sloping roofline, a sporty rear spoiler, and a dual-tone colour scheme. The Curvv EV will also be based on the Acti.EV platform, and will offer both ICE and electric powertrains.
Tata Motors has not revealed the exact launch dates or prices of these EVs, but sources suggest that the Curvv EV will be the first to hit the market, followed by the Harrier EV and Safari EV. The company is aiming to increase its share in the EV market, which is expected to grow rapidly in the next few years. Tata Motors currently offers four EVs in its lineup: the Nexon EV, the Tigor EV, the Tiago EV, and the Punch EV. The company also plans to launch the Altroz EV and the Sierra EV by the end of 2025.
