Is this the Royal Enfield Bullet 650?

Written by Nizam Shaikh

Royal Enfield has been constantly strengthening its motorcycle portfolio in the Indian market with plenty of new bikes. The brand introduced the Himalayan 450 as well as the Shotgun 650 at the end of 2023 at the Motoverse event. With more than a dozen motorcycles pending launch, another test mule has been spotted testing.

This time, the test mule appears to be a new iteration of the 650 Twin platform. Looks like the Bullet 650 is in the making or rather the Classic 650. The brand is likely to introduce the Classic 650 after the price introduction of the Shotgun 650. Royal Enfield is likely to position the Classic 650 below the Shotgun 650.

Royal Enfield Classic 650 – Features

The Classic 650 is also likely to be one of the most affordable in the Royal Enfield 650 Twin line-up. Compared to the Super Meteor 650 which made its debut last year, the test mule appears to lose of a lot of equipment. For example, the front suspension unit on the mule is a right side up telescopic unit. The Super Meteor 650 uses an upside down unit. The motorcycle also appears to have steel rims with spokes.

The test mule also features a split seat setup which is similar in design to the Classic 350 model. The headlight nacelle and marker lights also draw inspiration from Royal Enfield’s Classic models. The peashooter exhaust looks similar to the Shotgun 650 showcased at the Motoverse event and overall the design is similar to the Classic 350. The tail section is also reminiscent of Classic 350 design featuring a round tail lamp. The several changes to the equipment leads us to believe that the Classic 350 will undercut the pricing when compared to the Super Meteor 650.

Royal Enfield Classic 650 – Engine Specifications

Powering the Classic 650 is likely to be the same 650cc air-oil-cooled parallel twin engine. The engine produces 47 Hp of power and 52 Nm of torque matched to a 6-speed gearbox.

Now, Royal Enfield may opt to use the “Bullet” moniker as well for this new motorcycle or introduce a completely new 650 Twin product resembling the Bullet 350/500 that the brand sold earlier. The name is still a mystery, and details in the future might reveal what Royal Enfield chooses to call the new motorcycle, until then stay tuned.
