Aerodynamics of the 2023 BMW Motorrad M 1000 R
Aerodynamics play a significant role in racing – more so for a bike with a narrow profile. The BMW Motorrad M 1000 R gets the flagship bike’s aero bits like the winglets. These are claimed to aid in higher downforce generation when riding upright and at the same time also when going into the corners. Furthermore, the bike also gets M Carbon wheels and brake ducts that are integrated into front mudguards. According to the company, these have been tweaked to offer an improved airflow for front brake calipers and the forks.
Powertrain of the 2023 BMW Motorrad M 1000 R

The engine comes with forged pistons, CNC machined intake ports, titanium valves, variable valve timing (ShiftCam) and other bits.Further more, there is a new spring assembly on the exhaust side, lighter and narrower cam followers and optimised camshafts.
The intake consists of now shorted funnels that are calibrated for high engine speeds. According to BMW, the M 1000 R will go from zero to the ton in 3.2 seconds with a top speed of 280 km/h.
