Range Rover Velar Facelift has been officially launched in India. The SUV will be sold in a single HSE trim with a choice of petrol or diesel engine. The price is set at INR 93 lakh for both the powertrains. In comparison, the car is now dearer by INR 3.59 lakh as compared to the outgoing Velar. Bookings for the SUV commenced last wheel while the deliveries are expected to begin from September 2023.
Updates to the 2023 Range Rover Velar Facelift
The SUV now gets a new reworked grille, comes with pixel LED headlights and gets jewel-like DRLs. The SUV is offered in two new colour options. These include the Metallic Varesine Blue and Premium Metallic Zadar Grey paint scheme along with Deep Garnet and Caraway colours on the inside. Towards the rear, there is a big overhang which showcases the car’s huge length.
Coming to the insides, the Velar Facelift comes with moonlight chrome on the steering, AC vents and centre console. The other bits are covered in a tactile shadow grey ash wood veneer trim. The Velar is the first car from the Jaguar Land Rover stable to get the next-gen Pivi Pro infotainment. The SUV comes with an 11.4-inch curved touchscreen that can control most of the vehicle functions.
The Pivi Pro features Wireless Apple CarPlay and Wireless Android Auto, there is wireless charging and a redesigned centre console.
Range Rover has also incorporated active noise cancellation technology to ensure a minimal road noise intrusion in the cabin. Also included inside is a PM 2.5 Cabin Filter and a nanoe™ X technology to tackle pathogens and reduce odours, bacteria and allergens at the same time.
Powertrain details of the Range Rover Velar Facelift
The new Velar comes with two engine options. The 2.0-litre petrol motor is good for 246 BHP and 365 Nm. Meanwhile the 2.0-litre diesel engine puts out 201 BHP and 420 Nm of torque. Both are paired with 8-speed automatic gearbox. For the sake of comparison, the petrol powered Velar can reach a top speed of 217 km/h with a 0-100 km/h time of 7.5 seconds. Meanwhile the diesel does a relaxed 8.3 seconds to the top with a claimed top speed of 210 km/h.
