Hero MotoCorp discontinues Xpulse 200 2V in India

Written by Kanad Kalasur

According to a media report, Hero MotoCorp has discontinued the Xpulse 200 2V. Looks like Hero was waiting for the inventory of the bike to get over before taking it off the shelves. It was speculated that the 200 2V would be discontinued after the launch of the Xpulse 200 4V.

About the Xpulse 200 2V

In terms of pricing, the hero Xpulse 200 2V was priced at INR 1.27 lakh, which just is INR 10,000 less than the newly launched Xpulse 200 4V. The Xpulse 200 4V is priced at INR 1.37 lakh, but as the name suggest, it gets 4 valves, thereby giving the bike a few more horses. The 4V developed 18.8 BHP and 17.35 Nm of torque.

Apart from this change, there was no major difference between the two bikes. The 4V also gets some more new paint schemes. Hence for prospective buyers it makes sense to get the higher power version over the older model.

Current line-up of Xpulse range

At present, the Xpulse range starts at 4V. That said, Hero is working on a larger Xpulse 400 that will soon join the stable. The Xpulse 400 will get a 350-400cc engine that was head against the likes of the KTM 390 Adventure and the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450.

Hero MotoCorp’s November 2022 sales numbers
