Similar to the Indian Army, the Indian Air Force has now announced plans to induce electric vehicles into its fleet. Thus, The Indian Air Force recently added 12 Nexon EVs to its fleet. The first batch of cars was flagged off by Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari last Tuesday. These EVs will find their place in Delhi NCR units for performance monitoring and analysis.
Armed Forces’ Initiatives For Green Mobility
This induction aims to support the government’s initiative on the introduction of green mobility. Moreover, the Air Force has plans to steadily increase the use of electric vehicles by procuring new EVs. In fact, it also has plans to set up charging infrastructure at various bases across India. The Indian Air Force is currently working closely with the Army to create a standardized inventory of vehicles. The Army has already announced its plans to replace around 25 percent of light vehicles, 38 percent of its buses, and 48 percent of its motorcycle fleet with EVs.
Tata Nexon EV – Key Highlights
With the demand running high, Tata Nexon has gotten increasingly popular. Nexon is currently the top-selling electric four-wheeler in the country. This electric SUV gets all the latest features as per 2022 standards. To further add to the touch, Tata has also put on a generous price tag with the SUV. Nexon is available in two distinctive models, namely, Nexon EV Prime and Nexon EV Max.
EV Prime uses a 30.2 kWh high energy density Lithium-ion battery pack. Whereas EV Max uses a 40.5 kWh high energy density Lithium-ion battery pack. This results in a difference in the claimed mileage. For the Prime, Tata claims a certified mileage of 312 km. Whereas for the Max, the SUV gets a certified mileage of 437 km. Prices start from INR 14.99 lakh (ex-showroom) for Price. Meanwhile, for EV max, the prices start from 18.34 lakh (ex-showroom).
