2022 Jawa 42 Bobber – Highlights

The brand says that while the Perak was made to rule the dark, the new 42 Bobber is full of flair. The 42 Bobber stays true to the bobber essentials – minimalist bodywork, chopped fenders, fat tyres and a low seat. But additionally, the 42 Bobber also tops it all off with a dash of colour. Jawa says the 42 Bobber is not a design and styling exercise; it also gets a host of ergonomic and tech enhancements.

At the front, the 42 Bobber gets a new round headlamp, new handlebar, an independent instrument cluster and also a new fuel tank. Jawa has also completely redesigned the seat. The new fuel tank has ergonomically carved knee recesses with tank pads. The latter offers additional grip while riding.

To make the new colours stand out even more, it gets gloss black fenders and side panels. Meanwhile, the new independent instrument cluster and headlamp unit draw inspiration from the 42. However, Jawa made subtle tweaks to give the 42 Bobber’s front end a muscular look. The instrument cluster is a negative LCD screen that offers all the vital info to the rider. The 42 Bobber also gets all-around LED lighting as well as new switchgear.

The new floating seat comes with a new seat pan, cushioning and also upholstery. This forms the base of the enhanced ergonomics of the 42 Bobber. Jawa says the brand put a lot of effort into coming up with a seating posture that is engaging, comfortable as well as versatile. It also gets a new handlebar and front-set footpegs for an improved rider’s triangle. Additionally, the seat is 2-step adjustable. This lets riders move it front and back as per their preferences.

The 42 Bobber carries forward the Perak’s legacy with its 334cc single-cylinder engine. The motor produces 30.64 PS of peak power and 32.74 Nm of peak torque. The engine is matched to a 6-speed transmission. Jawa says this results in authoritative performance throughout the rev range.
