One of India’s leading electric two-wheeler brands, HOP Electric Mobility, has launched the highly anticipated HOP OXO electric bike in India. With its lineup of electric scooters and now an electric bike, HOP aims to cater to the needs of conscious customers who are trying to make sustainable choices.
CEO & Founder of HOP Electric Mobility, Ketan Mehta, says that the OXO is a result of years of R&D, road testing and the hard work of hundreds of its employees. He also claims that the HOP OXO is the most progressive e-bike in the Indian market.
HOP OXO & OXO X Electric Bike – Variants & Pricing
HOP electric bike will come in a total of two variants – OXO and OXO X. Pricing for the HOP Electric Mobility’s OXO starts at INR 1,24,999 ex-showroom for the OXO variant. Meanwhile, the OXO X comes with a sticker price of INR 1,39,999 ex-showroom.
The OXO comes with a 3-year / 50,000 km warranty. On the other hand, the OXO X gets a 4-year / Unlimited kilometres warranty. The OXO X also is HOP Nuron-enabled.
The company opened the pre-bookings for the HOP OXO at the end of July 2022. Since then, the brand had received over 5,000 bookings even before a single teaser was revealed. Now, the company says production is already ongoing and that deliveries will start from October 2022.
HOP OXO & OXO X Electric Bike – Highlights
With the HOP OXO, the company promises to fulfil all the mobility needs of modern Indian consumers. The electric bike comes with a host of integrated features, such as a 5-inch advanced information display which also has an IP67 rating for dust and water protection.
Both variants of the HOP OXO work on a 72V architecture with a 6200W peak power motor. HOP also claims its hub-mounted motor has 200 Nm of wheel torque. The base OXO variant comes with 3 ride modes – Eco, Power and Sport. In addition to this, the OXO X variant also gets a Turbo mode. In this mode, the OXO X can accelerate from 0 to 40 kmph in 4 seconds and also hit a top speed of 90 kmph.
The electric bike uses an advanced lithium-ion battery that features a smart BMS and 811 NMC cells. The capacity of the battery pack is 3.75 kWh. Thus, the large size of the battery helps it achieve a claimed range of 150 km per charge. Customers can charge the electric bike using any 16 Amp power socket using its portable smart charger. OXO claims it is able to charge from 0 to 80 per cent in less than 4 hours. Other features include multi-mode regenerative braking, 4G connectivity, and a mobile application which unlocks many features. These include geo-fencing, anti-theft system, ride stats and much more.
