Close to the end of 2020, Nissan introduced the Compact-SUV disrupting product, the Magnite, in the Indian market. The aggressive INR 4.99 lakh ex-showroom price attracted a lot of customers to Nissan’s showrooms across India. The brand now plans to introduce a 7-seater version of the Magnite in the Indian market, where demand for the three-row SUVs is soaring. Reports also suggest that Nissan could use a strategy similar to the Kia brand, which manufactures the 7-seater Sonet SUV in India but for consumption in the South East Asian markets.
Nissan Magnite 7-Seater SUV – Seating Configuration
The 7-seater Nissan Magnite SUV could use a 2+3+2 configuration, with the second row having tumble type seats in the second row. The car is also likely to have a sliding mechanism for the second-row seats to allow ease of configuration for the second- and third-row occupants. However, given the sub-4-metre size of the Magnite, the third-row occupants may not get spacious legroom. The brand may also incorporate flat-folding seats to maximise the luggage space.
Nissan Magnite SUV – Dimensions
According to sources, Nissan is not likely to make any structural or design changes to the Magnite 7-seater. In its standard form, the Nissan Magnite measures 3994mm in length, 1758mm in width, 1572mm in height. The SUV comes with a wheelbase of 2500mm. The SUV also comes with 205mm of ground clearance, 336-litres of boot space which is expandable up to 690-litres and a 40-litre fuel tank capacity.
Nissan Magnite SUV – Engine Options
Powering the Magnite is a B4D 1.0-litre naturally-aspirated three-cylinder dual VVT petrol engine. The engine produces 72 PS of power and 96 Nm of torque. The engine comes with a 5-speed manual transmission and claims a fuel efficiency of 18.75 kmpl. The brand also offers an HRA0 1.0-litre three-cylinder Turbo-Petrol engine. The motor produces 100 PS of power and 160 Nm of torque on the 5-speed manual gearbox and 152 Nm of torque on the optional X-TRONIC CVT automatic gearbox. The turbo-petrol motor claims a fuel efficiency of 20 kmpl on manual and 17.7 kmpl on the CVT automatic gearbox.
