German luxury carmaker Mercedes-Benz has announced that it will introduce a price hike on its India-spec vehicles from 1st April 2022. The automaker stated that prices of its entire model range would increase by around 3%, thanks to rising input costs. Another reason behind the price hike is to counter the increased logistics costs that applied pressure on the company’s overall costs. Additionally, this move will help in reducing Mercedes-Benz India’s operational costs due to rising input costs for a sustainable, strong business.
Price Revisions on India-spec Mercedes’
Mercedes-Benz has always continued its efforts to offer technologically advanced products for its customers throughout India, enhancing their product experience. However, the company also understands that a price revision is necessary to run a sustainable business and offset rising costs. Mercedes-Benz India believes that the new prices of vehicles will conform with its premium price positioning and best-in-segment ownership experience. Therefore, here are the all-new ex-showroom prices of the vehicles currently sold by Mercedes-Benz for the Indian market.
Mercedes-Benz’s A 200 limousine will now cost INR 42 lakhs, whereas the GLA 200 will cost INR 45 lakhs. Meanwhile, the GLC 200 will cost INR 62 lakh, and the GLE 300 d 4M will cost INR 86 lakhs. The luxury-focussed GLS 400d 4 M will cost INR 1.16 crore, whereas the S-class 350d will cost INR 1.60 crore.
Finally, the LWB version of the E-class 200 will cost INR 71 lakhs that target the executive class of owners. Mercedes’ upcoming price hike also affects two AMG-specific models that are currently available in India via the CBU route. This includes the AMG E63S 4Matic and AMG GT63S 4-Door Coupe, which will cost INR 1.77 crore and INR 2.7 crore, respectively.

During the first week of March 2022, Mercedes-Benz launched the Mercedes-Maybach S-class for the Indian market in exclusive two trims. The S 580 4Matic will use a V8 engine, whereas the top-spec S 680 4Matic will feature the V12 motor. The automaker will produce the S 580 locally, whereas the S 680 will make its way as a CBU unit. The Mercedes-Maybach S 580 costs INR 2.5 crore (ex-showroom), whereas the S 680 costs INR 3.20 crore (ex-showroom).
