Tata Tigor EV & Nexon EV: An Overview
Tata Motors launched the Tigor EV in India back in 2021, which scored a brilliant 4-star G-NCAP safety rating. Considered as one of the safest subcompact sedans in India, the Tigor EV symbolises Technology, Comfort, and Safety. Tata Motors has equipped the Tigor EV with a 26-kWh high energy density Lithium-ion battery pack that powers the electric motor. Therefore, the Tigor EV produces 55 kW of power and 170 Nm of torque with an ARAI-claimed range of 306 Km.
These performance numbers also allow the Tigor EV to accelerate from 0-60 kph in a brilliant 5.7 seconds. Tata Motors currently offers an 8-year/1,60,000 Km battery and motor warranty on the Tigor EV. Meanwhile, the Nexon EV is the brand’s first-ever EV that delivers an ARAI-certified range of 312 Km per charge. This electric SUV gets a larger 30.2 kWh lithium-ion battery pack that sends power to the permanent-magnet AC motor.
This allows the motor to produce 129 PS of peak power and an instant 245 Nm of torque. These performance numbers enable the SUV to accelerate from 0-100 kph in a brisk 9.9 seconds. Tata Motors also offers the same battery and motor warranty on the Nexon EV and offers top-notch connectivity features. With almost 35 connected car features, the app offers remote commands, vehicle health monitoring, safety/security, and driving/trip analytics.
