Yamaha EMF Electric Scooter – Highlights
The Yamaha EMF features a flat front end with headlamps mounted in between the front forks. The forks make up a large part of the front apron giving the scooter a bespoke look. The stacked headlamp design adds to the upright touch on the front end, and adding to this is the protruding instruments cluster. The EMF also comes with a straight bench seat and sleek tail section, which reverberates with the front. The scooter also comes with features such as a smart key card (NFC) with storage function detachable keel; Class C projector LED, full LED display smart meter, “Y-Connect TWN for EV”, etc.
Yamaha EMF Electric Scooter – Technical Specifications
Powering the Yamaha EMF is a G2 aluminium alloy water-cooled permanent magnet synchronous motor. The scooter also features a MOSFET water-cooled motor controller. The electric motor produces 7.6kW of peak power and 26 Nm of torque, allowing 0-50kmph acceleration in just 3.5 seconds. Yamaha has not yet unveiled the top speed and range of the EMF. The Yamaha EMF will use the GoStation battery-swapping stations installed throughout Taiwan by Gogoro Energy Network, reducing the range anxiety.
The e-scooter comes with a high rigidity lightweight steel tube frame that rides on a periscope front fork and dual rear shock absorbers. Braking power comes from a 200mm single disc on the front with a four-piston radial calliper and a 190mm disc on the rear. The electric scooter tips the scales at 114kg, including two main batteries.
