Kia India bagged 7,738 bookings for Carens within 24 hours

Korean automotive manufacturer Kia has announced that it has received 7,738 bookings within 24 hours for its Carens MPV. Kia India opened the bookings for its recently released Carens MPV on January 14th, 2022, via its official dealerships and website. Interested Indian customers paid an initial booking amount of INR 25,000, for which Kia India showcased immense pleasure. The company stated that it received the highest first day of bookings for any of its products launched in India.

2022 Kia Carens: Design Highlights 

Unveiled in Premium, Prestige, Prestige Plus, Luxury, and Luxury Plus trims, the Carens sports the longest wheelbase in its class. Featuring Kia’s new Opposites United design philosophy, the MPV sports star-map LED DRLs and LED headlamps at the front. The Carens also sports a knurled applique and a mesh on the lower grille along with rounded wheel arches.

With 16-inch, dual-tone alloy wheels, the MPV also sports a progressive roofline, star-map LED taillights and a chiselled tail section. Along with a uniquely designed chrome panel on the rear bumper, Kia offers 8 colours for the Carens MPV. These include Imperial Blue, Moss Brown, Sparkling Silver, Intense Red, Aurora Black Pearl, Gravity Grey, Glacial White Pearl, and Clear White.

2022 Kia Carens: Technical Specs and Features Highlights 

Kia will offer a choice of 3 engine options and 3 gearbox configurations for the Carens MPV in India. The 1.5-litre, Smartream four-cylinder petrol engine producing 115 PS and 144 Nm will feature a 6-speed manual transmission. Meanwhile, the 1.4-litre Smartstream Gdi, a turbo-petrol motor that produces 140 PS and 242 Nm, will sport 2 gearbox options. These include a 6-speed manual gearbox and a 7-speed, dual-clutch automatic gearbox with paddle shifters for extra convenience.

Finally, the Carens will sport a 1.5-litre, CRDi VGT, four-cylinder turbo-diesel that develops115 PS and 250 Nm. Kia India will offer this engine with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. The brand will offer a Robust 10 Hi-safety package as standard on all 5 trims of the Carens MPV. Standard safety features included within the package are ESC, VSM, HAC, DBC, ABS, BAS, All-wheel disc brakes, and 6 airbags.

Other additional features of the Carens include the Rear Parking Sensors, TPMS, Skylight Sunroof, 64-color ambient lighting, and Ventilated Front Seats. The Carens also feature 3 drive modes- Sport, Eco, and Normal along with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Kia India will offer the Carens in 6 or 7-seater options with a BOSE Premium Sound System with 8 speakers. Additionally, the Carens sports the next-gen Kia Connected car tech and a Smart-Pure Air Purifier with Virus and Bacteria protection.
