Maruti Suzuki is planning to upgrade the brand’s popular hatchback, the Maruti Suzuki Baleno in the Indian market. The Maruti Suzuki Baleno facelift will come with new front and rear fascia along with some tweaks to the interiors. However, the brand is not likely to make any major changes to the engine. But new reports suggest that Maruti Suzuki will considerably upgrade the safety quotient of the new Baleno. The new Baleno facelift is likely to come with safety features such as 6 airbags and an electronic stability program (ESP).

Maruti Suzuki Baleno Facelift – Safety Features

The brand will not only offer 6 airbags and ESP but the new car will also come with a thicker grade of steel on the outer body panels. The brand is also likely to strengthen the chassis of the new Baleno facelift improving the crash absorption rate. Reports suggest that the new improvements in the metal and chassis may not improve the rigidity of the vehicle but the hatchback is likely to “feel better built.”

The airbag upgrade is likely to be applicable on the top-spec variants and could come with driver and passenger airbags along with curtain bags, both for the front and rear passengers. The Electronic Stability Program will also help the driver get better control of the car in panic braking situations as the ESP can steer the car in an emergency by using individual wheel braking.

Maruti Suzuki Baleno Facelift – Major Changes

The Maruti Suzuki Baleno facelift is likely to come with a new radiator grille and headlamps. The new headlamps on the Baleno are also likely to come with new DRL signatures. The brand is also likely to offer new taillights on the new Baleno. On the inside, reports suggest that the new Baleno is likely to come with wireless charging, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The brand could also offer a larger, free-standing touchscreen jointly developed with Toyota and is likely to come with a new interface. The new infotainment system could also come with internet-connected features and a Heads-Up Display unit (HUD). HUD will help drivers keep their eyes on the road as all the important information is relayed on the windshield and in peripheral vision.

Maruti Suzuki also plans to refresh the interiors of the Baleno facelift offering a new floating centre console. Sources report that the brand will offer a sporty instrument cluster with deep-set clear dials and a digital multi-information display. The Baleno is also likely to come with a sporty flat-bottom steering wheel.
