Korean automotive giant Hyundai is preparing itself to launch the fourth-generation Tucson SUV for the Indian market by 2022. Meanwhile, enthusiasts managed to spot the fourth-generation Tucson on a transport truck with no camouflage and full production-ready guise. So far, Hyundai has been spotted numerous times testing the camouflaged Tucson SUV test mules on Indian roads. Introduced to the global market in 2021, the fourth-generation Hyundai Tucson has achieved great success in terms of sales.
NOTE: Hyundai has clarified that the new-generation Tuscon SUV, which has been spotted, is for the export (Nepal) market and not for India.
2022 Hyundai Tucson: Design & Features Details
Hyundai has utilized its Parametric Dynamics design philosophy for the brand new 2022 Tucson, which comes with new exterior elements. The fourth-gen Tucson now sports a sharp front-end design with ‘Parametric Hidden Lights’ integrated within the grille. This unique lighting system allows the LED DRLs to remain hidden within the grille until the driver starts the SUV. Upon arrival, Tucson will compete with SUVs such as the Jeep Compass, Citroen C5 Aircross, and the VW Tiguan.
Hyundai has continued the wedge-shaped design on the sides of the Tucson, which also features trapezoidal wheel arches. Meanwhile, at the rear, the Tucson sports a full-width LED light bar with unique triangular LED taillights. The interior of the SUV features a dual-cockpit INTERFACE design with a decluttered layout and a vertically-oriented centre fascia. Additionally, the Tucson features a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and Bluetooth connectivity.
2022 Hyundai Tucson: Powertrain Highlights
The Korean automaker has equipped the Tucson SUV with a choice of petrol and diesel engine options in international markets. Powering the Tucson is a 2.5-litre, 4-cylinder, direct-injection petrol engine which produces 190 PS and 247 Nm. Additionally, Hyundai offers a 1.6-litre turbo-petrol hybrid or a plug-in hybrid motor that produces 230 PS and 350 Nm. On the other hand, the 1.6-litre CRDi Smartstream diesel engine produces 136 PS of power with an optional four-wheel drive.
