India’s renowned two and three-wheeler manufacturers TVS Motor Company has announced the what3words navigation system for the Apache RR 310. The company has integrated the innovative and unique location technology in its TVS Connect customer app for all its patrons. TVS states that customers using the new system can share and navigate to any location using three simple words. By implementing the what3words navigation system, TVS has become the first Indian two-wheeler manufacturer to introduce the system to customers.
what3words navigation system: How does it work?
In order to help riders find precise locations, the system divides the world into a grid of 3-meter squares. The navigation system then ensures that each square contains a unique combination of three random words – a what3words address. As an example, if riders type in ///routine.ballpoint.snares, then it signifies the what3words address for TVS’ HQ in Chennai.
Thanks to the integration of the what3words system into the TVS Connect App, customers can navigate the world more efficiently. This system also enables riders to meet friends/fellow riders in places without street addresses, such as scenic roadside viewpoints. TVS has stated that its focus on navigation accuracy led to the development of this innovative system for its customers.
Throughout India, addresses often mislead or aren’t accurate enough to specify precise locations, including entrances for buildings. Since these specific location points do not exist in rural areas of India, finding people and conducting deliveries become complicated. By partnering with what3words, TVS Motor Company has assured to make navigation easier, hassle-free, and less time-consuming for Indian customers. The biggest benefit of using the what3words navigation system is its offline availability, where customers with poor connectivity can use it.

In the final week of November 2021, TVS launched the updated 2022 Apache RTR 200 4V with a new DRL headlamp. Priced at INR 1,33,840 (ex-showroom), the bike also features a new LED DRL, which can change its stance. Along with body-coloured front and side panels, the Apache RTR 200 4V sports black plastic cladding on the exhaust and mudguards. Available in Gloss Black, Pearl White, and Matte Black colours, the bike sports RTR decals and red graphics throughout.
