Japanese motorcycle manufacturer Kawasaki has launched the KLX450R adventure motorcycle in India priced at INR 8,99,000 (ex-showroom). Unveiled as the new flagship motorcycle of the KLX range, the KLX450R continues the brand’s evolution by focussing on off-roading. Kawasaki states that the new adventure motorbike offers enhanced handling and performance in off-road racing conditions and tackles rough terrain. The brand has also stated that deliveries of the KLX450R will begin from the end of January 2022.
2022 Kawasaki KLX450R: Design Details
Offered in a single ‘Lime Green’ colour scheme, the KLX450R sports a single LED headlight and a raised front mudguard. The KLX450R showcases its adventure credentials thanks to the rear panel cover, a visor-shaped front cowl, and raised handlebars. To accentuate its design and presence, Kawasaki has implemented a mix of White and Lime Green colours throughout the bike. Overall, the bike sports a compact upswept exhaust, a flat single-seat, black KLX body graphics, and Kawasaki stickers.
2022 Kawasaki KLX450R: Technical Specs & Features
Powering the Kawasaki KLX450R is a 449cc, liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, single-cylinder motor which produces around 56 PS and 50 Nm. Paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox, the adventure bike sports a 21-inch front wheel and an 18-inch rear wheel. The KLX450R utilizes an aluminium perimeter frame with a ground clearance of 315mm and a seat height of 935mm. With an 8-litre fuel tank, the bike measures 2175mm in length, 820mm in width, and 1250mm in height.
For comfort and handling, the KLX450R sports a 48mm, inverted AOS, front telescopic suspension with 285mm of front wheel travel. At the rear, the bike sports a UNI-TRAK monoshock system with two-turn variable high-speed compression and 278mm of rear-wheel travel. For braking performance, Kawasaki has equipped the KLX450R with a single 250mm front disc with a 2-piston calliper. Meanwhile, the bike features a single 240mm rear disc with a single-piston calliper, rear LED taillight and Digital Instrumentation.

According to sources, the brand may unveil a Z250 naked motorcycle with the 250cc, in-line four-cylinder motor. The upcoming bike may borrow its design language and powertrain from Kawasaki’s other successful Z models to mimic the ZX-25R.
