Bajaj is planning to introduce a new Pulsar motorcycle in the Indian market. With the new bike, Bajaj will compete fiercely in the quarter-litre segment in India. The quarter-litre motorcycle market includes sport naked motorcycles, adventure bikes, as well as touring motorcycles, including the Dominar 250. But the new Pulsar 250F will be positioned as a sport-touring motorcycle, similar to the Pulsar 220F.
Bajaj Pulsar 250F – Spyshots
According to the spy shots, Bajaj is currently testing the model with camouflaged skin over the half fairing. The images of the bike reveal a sleek front fascia with wing mirrors and a tall windscreen. The front fairing integrates well with the fuel tank and forms an aerodynamic shape. The motorcycle also gets a sleek tail cowling with pillion grabrails. The headlight and taillight design is not clearly seen in the pictures. But the brand is likely to equip the motorcycle with LED lamps on both ends. The bike also gets a small underbelly cowl and a stubby exhaust.
In terms of ergonomics, the Pulsar 250F will come with mid-rear set footpegs, and though it comes with clip-on style handlebars, the riding posture appears quite upright and relaxed. The motorcycle also appears to come with split seats, and the rear seat appears generous in size, which is likely to accommodate a heavier pillion.
Bajaj Pulsar 250F – Technical Specifications
While Bajaj has been trickling down technology and powertrains from KTM. The Pulsar 250F might not get the LC4 250cc compact powertrain that powers the KTM 250 Duke & 250 Adventure. Instead, the brand might be planning to introduce a new air-cooled engine which is likely to be the evolution of the 220F. This will also help the brand keep the prices down and allow the motorcycle to slot below the flagship Dominar brand.
Power and torque figures are not available yet, but it is likely to produce around 25 Hp of power. The brand is also likely to supply a 6-speed transmission unit with the Pulsar 250F for long highway riding in mind. The Pulsar 250F is likely to come with 17-inch alloy wheels, conventional telescopic suspension with hydraulic damping on the front, a monoshock on the rear and single disc brakes on both ends with hydraulic stoppers and dual-channel ABS.
